Siddharth Kumar is a Law student pursuing B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) 3rd year from Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla. In the last 2 years, he has gradually developed interest in Political Science, Sociology and Criminal Justice System because of the subjects he had opted for. Also during his research on different socio-legal topics, he had a chance to go through various literature of repute and therefore he has always tried to have an inter-disciplinary approach while dealing with any social or legal issue.

He believes that reading, writing and researching are the most important aspect for any law student. He has worked as a student research co-ordinator in a National Project on ‘Reforms in Criminal Justice System’ by the Ministry of Home Affairs under Himachal Pradesh High Court. He has also conducted a study on ‘Police Image & Public Perception in India’ for the book ‘Changing Dynamics of Policing and Police Administration in India’-GNLU. Being a student of Sociology, he has always tried to highlight the social themes in his research work and that is why he has worked on topics like Education & Socio-economic Profile of Tribal society in Jharkhand for the Centre for Tribal Studies-NLUO. He has also conducted research on ‘Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace’ under Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JLSPS) - Govt of Jharkhand, Ranchi.

Currently, he is working as a Student Editor at Centre for Environment and Disaster Management’s Newsletter ‘HPNLU Green Gazette’. He is also a core member of the Criminal Law Society and Legal Aid Committee-HPNLU. As a member of Legal Aid Clinic HPNLU, he has taken part in various Legal Aid Camps and Legal Awareness programmes in Shimla District.
